Our Story
How it all started
In 2014, renowned chef Noyel Liyanaarachchi flew to Australia, having honed his culinary expertise in Sri Lanka’s premier hotels. After immersing himself in the local food scene, he yearned to bring the authentic taste of Sri Lanka to Australian palates. In 2022, his dream materialized with the opening of “Colombo Kottoo,” a culinary heaven named after the beloved Sri Lankan dish, Kottu Roti. Each bite reflects Chef Noyel’s passion and journey, blending tradition and innovation since February 17, 2022.

Great Sri Lankan food in Armidale. A nice variety of dishes at reasonable prices. Highly recommend the devilled chicken and lamb kottu. The apple wood drink was also very nice. The staff were very friendly. Would definitely go back again.

Absolutely delicious
Absolutely delicious with a side of insanely stunning service! I’ve never had Kottoo (kottu) before and they were so happy to offer suggestions and tell us all about the offerings. What was served was a super yummy mix of lamb, veggies, and egg. Super tasty sauce, and a wonderfully sized portion for it all.
The service was so good and quick, it was perfect for a quick lunch bite!
